Caye Caulker is a tiny little island off the coast of Belize in Central America. It’s less than 1 mile wide and 5 miles long BUT the Northern part of Caye Caulker is a protected forest reserve, the South is mainly just an air strip, making Caye Caulker Village around 300m from East to West and just over 1 mile North to South! There are no cars on the island, everyone either walks, rides a bike or drives around in a golf cart (the beer delivery truck is a tractor…). With an island motto of “Go Slow’ you can expect a stay in Caye Caulker to be pretty laid back and relaxing!
There are many bars on the island of Caye Caulker in Belize, a lot of them have swings instead of chairs which I thought was absolutely brilliant. But there are 3 particular bars that stand out when it comes to drinking AND being able to enjoy the surroundings and Caribbean sea!
Caye Caulker is a little island just off the coast of mainland Belize, there are no paved roads and the main method of transport on the island is golf cart or bicycle! The cheapest way to reach Caye Caulker is by water taxi! Here’s my guide on how to get to Caye Caulker from Belize International Airport…taking you right from the airplane door to this paradise island!
