In this post I will be sharing different options for cabin rentals in Iowa, including cabins with hot tubs! You may have seen my previous post about glamping in Iowa, but cabins can often bring an extra level of comfort. Some cabins are larger, perfect for a getaway with a group of friends or a couple of families! The majority of cabins listed are located in East Iowa.

Iowa Cabin Rentals Without Hot Tubs
McGregor
Spook Cave & Campground
🗺13299 Spook Cave Rd, McGregor, IA 52157, United States
⭐️May to October
As well as being a campground, Spook Cave has a selection of cabin rentals. There are several different designs, the two smaller cabins sleeping up to 6 people and the bigger sleeps between 8-10. They were built locally by the Amish. These cabins come with more amenities than the Hut, which is a smaller option. Each cabin has their own bathroom and shower, as well as a full kitchen with pots, pans, plates and cutlery etc.

Four of the cabins have lake views. The largest cabins have TWO lofts and two bedrooms, giving plenty of space to spread out if being shared between a couple of families or friends. The porch has lots of comfy outside seating.
The Woodland Cabins are set further back into the woods. I like the way these cabins had a swinging bench and a rocking chair on the porch! The Cabin Mansion is the most recent addition and sleeps up to 27 guests!
Guests have access to a playground, a swimming and fishing lake and boat tours of Spook Cave are an additional fee. Golf carts can be rented to explore the grounds.
Cabins start from $150 per night. (Weekly rates available). The season runs between May and October.

Ideas For A Cabin Getaway
I went on a cabin getaway with some of the Midwest Travel Bloggers. A big part of our trip involved food and drink! We had a cooking lesson from Mary who blogs over at Farm Girl Cook’n, with each of us bringing different bits and pieces. We made homemade bread that tasted AWESOME.

Another interesting thing we made was a variation of Kahlua (coffee flavoured liquor) which goes AMAZINGLY well with hot chocolate (thanks for the suggestion Katy @Flint & Co!). What we didn’t drink we divided up and took home! Theresa @The Local Tourist brought homemade Amaretto.
Being writers we had times where we’d just be relaxing and catching up on online things or bouncing ideas off each other, giving each other ideas and tips etc. Cabins are usually in locations that are perfect for hiking or have fire pits, to enjoy the outdoors!
