Sunday Brunch Buffet at Timmermans Supper Club – East Dubuque, Illinois | USA
Timmermans Supper Club in East Dubuque, Illinois is one of my favourite places to make an absolute pig of myself! It sits high up on top of a bluff that partly overlooks the Mississippi River. From the outside it doesn’t look like much, but once inside, the restaurant is surrounded with windows and you’re greeted with a pretty awesome view!

On a Sunday morning between 9.30am – 1pm, Timmermans Supper Club is open for Brunch in the style of an ‘all you can eat’ buffet! The wait staff show you to a table (of course everyone wants a table next to the window!) and take your drinks order. Glasses of iced water are free but any other drinks cost extra.
Coffee is served in a fancy glass and is bottomless and for once, it’s nice tasting coffee (us Brits aren’t really a fan of filter coffee) and if you ask for tea, you receive a tea pot and a bowl full of a whole range of different flavoured tea bags to choose from! They also serve mimosas (complete with a cherry!).

The majority of the food is laid out on hot plates and platters in the following stations (sample of the dishes offered):
- Hot breakfast – bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns, waffle sticks
- Live Omelette station – Cooked on demand with choices such as: ham, mushroom, cheese etc
- Pastries & Breads – Danish pastries, donuts, bagels, bread (including a toaster)
- Fruit, Veg & Salads – Platters of pineapple and different types of melon, vegetables like cauliflower and broccoli with dips, mixed bowls of salad, fruit salad cool whip fluff mix
- Lunch – Fried chicken, sliced ham, taco bar, mash potatoes
- Dessert – a HUGE selection of various pies (cherry, lemon meringue, pumpkin, cheesecake etc), hot apple crumble, ice cream, chocolate sauce, cool whip, strawberry puree…yes I had ice cream for breakfast…!
As it is a brunch, there is a wide selection of lunch time dishes as well as the breakfast options.

The staff are all very friendly and chatty. Our waitress pointed out a tree in front of the window where two bald eagles usually live. It was snowy and cold when we visited but we still saw one in the distance, apparently in the summer they are flying around constantly!
It’s quite an expensive restaurant, the times I went the buffet brunch was *$20 an adult (with the drinks on top), so I’d often save going for a birthday treat. The brunch is always fairly busy but there were always tables available. (*This may have changed since my visits as it was a while ago)
The first time we visited I was worried that we wouldn’t be able to get up the steep hill that leads up to the restaurant as there had been a heavy snowfall overnight, but it was literally the clearest road we drove on all day!
Evening Meals
Timmermans Supper Club is also open from 4pm in the evenings for dinner (closed on Monday and Tuesday). It’s a nice place to catch the sunset as the windows face westbound!
All Entrees are served with soup or salad, a choice of starch and bread rolls. The menu consists mostly of: chicken, beef, pork, fish and seafood, with the seafood section taking up the majority of the menu. Everything on the evening menu costs upwards of $25 (without drinks).

You can find their evening menu and opening times on the Timmermans Supper Club website.
