Indiana has gained its first National Park! Yay! The Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is now Indiana Dunes NATIONAL Park, America’s 61st National Park. Located in Chesterton, Indiana, just a one hour drive away from Downtown Chicago, making it an easy day trip from the Windy city! A small section of Indiana state borders Lake Michigan, but it’s a section that’s well worth a stop! Why not challenge yourself and take on the Indiana Dunes State Park ‘3 Dunes Challenge’?!

When you think of Gold Coast in Australia, what’s the first thing that comes into your head? I’m probably not wrong in thinking ‘beaches’…it’s in the name after all! It shouts out white sandy coastline! Away from the hustle and bustle of the cities, Gold Coast’s Hinterland is home to several national parks. These include: Tamborine National Park, Springbrook National Park (the ‘I’m a Celebrity Jungle’ for my UK readers!) and Lamington National Park. This post will focus on Tamborine National Park and walks to do on Mt Tamborine in a morning or afternoon.

Back in 2011 when I drove the length of Route 66 with my family, we were gutted that by the time we reached St Louis (Missouri), there were no available tickets left on sale for that day to go to the top of the Gateway Arch. It’s exactly what it says on the tin, a giant 630ft silver archway that is the ‘Gateway to the West’ for those crossing the Mississippi River. When I returned a couple of weekends back, I had my fingers crossed that the same wouldn’t happen again! Luck was on my side and I was finally able to experience it.
