If you’re looking for hotels in Dubuque Iowa, in this post I share some of the best hotels and accommodation in the Downtown area. Dubuque is home to many different chain hotels, with the majority being located on the arterial road or Dodge St (HWY 20) in the business district. These are great if you are looking for somewhere if you are just passing through. However if you want to be closer to some of the small independent businesses and other things to do in Dubuque, Downtown is the best place to be!

Dubuque To Waterloo: Events & Things To Do Along Highway 20 in Iowa (East) | USA

Highway 20 is America’s longest highway. Stretching from Boston, Massachusetts on the East Coast, all the way to Newport, Oregon on the West Coast!  It’s 3365 miles (914 miles longer than Route 66) crossing 12 States: Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and Oregon.  For the most part, Highway 20 sticks to its original 1926 Route across America.  When I moved to America, my house actually sat on the ‘Old Highway 20’ in Iowa! Ironically it’s somewhere that I’ve never really written about…until now! I spent almost everyday in the small towns along Highway 20 in East Iowa!

What To Expect: Float Tank Experience at Float and Fly in Dubuque, Iowa | USA

I’m all for trying unique experiences and when I first heard about floatation therapy and float tanks, I had to try it out!  I had seen something similar in a hotel lobby in Las Vegas a while back. It was a kind of water bed in a pod which moved in a way that massaged you.  This is a little different though, a float tank is like a giant bath filled with a saline/epsom salt solution. This allows you to float in just a few inches of water, similar to the dead sea!
