Gran Canaria Road Trip | Exploring Gran Canaria’s Mountains & Northern Region!

If you can pull yourself away from the beautiful beaches on the popular south coast, it’s worth taking a day trip to explore the central and northern areas of Gran Canaria! The landscape is completely different. The coastal areas of the south are generally sunny, so it’s very dry and rocky. However the mountainous regions receive over 100 days of rain a year and therefore it’s quite green! It can also be on average, 10c cooler in the mountains, so additional layers may be needed! Gran Canaria’s ‘Little Venice’ | 6 Things To Do In Puerto De Mogan

The fishing village of Puerto De Mogan sits on the south-west coast of Gran Canaria, close to Puerto Rica and the resort town of Taurito. This village is nicknamed ‘Little Venice’ because of the canals and the narrow streets around Mogan Marina. The brightly coloured flowers hanging from balconies make it a very photogenic little town.
