When you think of Gold Coast in Australia, what’s the first thing that comes into your head?  I’m probably not wrong in thinking ‘beaches’…it’s in the name after all!  It shouts out white sandy coastline!  Away from the hustle and bustle of the cities, Gold Coast’s Hinterland is home to several national parks. These include: Tamborine National Park, Springbrook National Park (the ‘I’m a Celebrity Jungle’ for my UK readers!) and Lamington National Park.  This post will focus on Tamborine National Park and walks to do on Mt Tamborine in a morning or afternoon.

Why You Should Visit Australia in Winter

I’ve been to Australia 3 times now and ironically have never been there in summer.  First time was spring, then autumn and most recently, winter!  I actually think winter is a great time of year to visit Australia.  For me working in a school in the Northern Hemisphere, it also just so happens to coincide with when I get all of my time off!  Here are a few reasons as to why winter is the best time to visit Australia and a few tips to get the most from your visit!

Capsule Hotel Sydney Review: What It’s Like Staying in a Pod Hotel | Australia

Staying in a Japanese style capsule hotel had been on my bucket list for a while.  I then read somewhere that a lot of the ones in Japan are ‘male only’, so I wouldn’t be welcome anyway!  HOWEVER in May 2017, Australia’s very first Capsule Hotel opened in Sydney and during my 2018 trip, I booked in for 4 nights!
