Journey to the Top St Louis Arch: Tips For Visiting | Missouri USA

Back in 2011 when I drove the length of Route 66 with my family, we were gutted that by the time we reached St Louis (Missouri), there were no available tickets left on sale for that day to go to the top of the Gateway Arch.  It’s exactly what it says on the tin, a giant 630ft silver archway that is the ‘Gateway to the West’ for those crossing the Mississippi River.  When I returned a couple of weekends back, I had my fingers crossed that the same wouldn’t happen again!  Luck was on my side and I was finally able to experience it.

Expat Life: Passing an American Driving Test | What To Expect!

I’m not going to lie, in the first week of driving in the States, I reversed into a tree while backing into a car parking space.  My car already had a giant dent in the bumper when we bought it so other than my self esteem, there wasn’t really much damage.  Anyone that has passed a car test in Europe will know what an awful experience it is. However the American driving test seems so simple in comparison!

Tips for Visiting Maquoketa Caves State Park in Iowa!

Maquoketa Caves State Park is located in East Iowa and the awesome thing about it is that it’s completely free to visit! The park consists of 6 miles of walking trails through a woodland area (complete with the deer!), some follow the path through large caves and others lead to the entrances of caves that require a bit of crawling! There are 16 caves altogether, around 50% are ‘walk in caves’.  The caves were first discovered back in the 1830s. Here are my tips for visiting Maquoketa Caves State Park!
