I’ve been travelling a lot longer than 13 years. Technically I’ve been documenting my travels for almost all of my life, but the biggest changes have been within the last 10 to 13 years or so! Sometimes I look back on trips and think ‘man if I had THIS gadget for that trip, imagine the shots I would have got!!’. This post is taking a look at how my travel tech has changed over the years and the quality of the end results!
I’m guilty of escaping the European winter in favour of warmer climates but Europe actually has some amazing destinations that are great for a winter city break! For the sake of this post, we’ll consider winter to be from November to March/April, generally when the weather is still a little on the chilly side! These are all European cities that I have personally visited during the off peak season!
A fun little gift idea for people you may not get to see very often, long distance relationships, expats etc are ‘Open When’ letters! They can be as cheap or as expensive as you like because at the end of the day they come from the heart (bleugh I just threw up a little…but it’s true!). The trickiest part is coming up with what to include! I gave some to my mum and sister in England when I moved to America and then in return my mum sent some to me! Hopefully you’ll find these Open When letter ideas helpful!
I’m a huge fan of travel themed jewellery, especially the friendship style bracelets. Because I’m very active, I find that typical chain jewellery just doesn’t last, the chain breaks and then I end up losing them. I recently walked by an expensive jewellery shop in Greece and the store assistant was like “you need jewellery to remember your trip!” And I was like errrr got anything made out of string?!? So when I was recently contacted by ‘Life Less Ordinary’ to advertise their coordinates bracelet, I jumped at the chance!
As some of you may know, I’m a huge fan of carry on travel and try to do so as much as possible. Not only does it save money as many airlines charge you for checked luggage now, but it also saves time as you then don’t have to wait at the baggage carousel or worry about bags being transferred during connecting flights! I was recently contacted by Chester Travel to try out their new Minima carry on suitcase and here’s what I think!
I have a bit of a love hate relationship when it comes to seagulls. I always go on and on about how I love the Great British seaside and going to the beach just isn’t the same without their constant squawking noise. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. But I find that I’m starting to hate them because they poop on you, they are big and scary and they are turning into menaces and it’s the fault of the human population. Why? Because people keep feeding seagulls!!!
It’s no secret that I love my DJI Spark drone! It gives you a whole different perspective of your surroundings. As a camera, I find that the pictures come out so well that they require minimal editing…most of these photos have had no editing at all! It’s small enough that I’ve still been able to carry on travelling with just cabin baggage, despite having all the extra gear.
