I admit, I’ve been a terrible blogger. I’ve been so busy with emigrating and life over the past year that my social networks have been pushed to the side and I haven’t been reading or commenting on blogs. It’s the biggest thing I want to change in the New Year when it comes to blogging. I love reading about other people’s adventures and I can’t wait to discover some more blogs! But why start in the New Year? I’ve decided that during the month of December, I’m going to do an #adventblogshare!
So what is my #adventblogshare?
I want links to blogs and posts. I’m going to read them, give them some love and for each day leading up to Christmas I’m going to share my favourites on twitter using the #adventblogshare hashtag! So if you have posts that need a little bit more love or ones you’re proud of, send them my way! They don’t have to be Christmas related, they could be about ANYTHING.
Just leave the links in the comments below!
I’m going to start with sharing some love in this post! I was nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award a while back and I never got round to completing it. So…
Thank you to Kelly (a fellow Brit living in America!) at The Unicorn Wife for the nomination! I love this post she wrote about her favourite home decor items, there are some lovely ideas! Her creativity is awesome and I can’t wait to follow her blog more! These are the 10 questions she asked as part of the Sunshine Blogger Award.
- Name one book that you loved and couldn’t put down.
I love reading, there have been a few books I haven’t been able to put down! This year particularly, I have really enjoyed the Street Cat Bob series by James Bowen. It’s a true story about how a busker in London had his life changed by a cat. It’s also now a film! (The books are available on Amazon, the link is below!)
- Where is your favorite place to travel?
Hawaii or Western Australia are my 2 favourite places. The colour of the sea plays a big part in this! I loved the Windward Coast of Oahu in Hawaii, it was so much more laid back than the hustle and bustle of Waikiki!
- What’s the craziest thing you’ve done?
Bungee Jumping? Sky Diving? Canyon Swinging? I’m not too sure, I’ve done a lot of crazy stuff, I’m addicted to jumping off things…I get a kick out of the free fall feeling!
- Do you have a nick-name and if so, what is it and how did you get it?
Me and my Sister call each other Sas. I’m not too sure exactly how we got it, it’s a spin off of Sis…it may have been a shortened version of Sasquatch, I can’t quite remember, we’ve had it for a while!
- What’s your most embarrassing moment?
Me and Dad were messing around on rope swings when we were at an attraction in Cornwall – UK once, I decided to try and go on the swing upside down (…don’t ask) and I managed to completely split my shorts from front to back. I had to borrow my Sister’s hoodie to try and cover up my underwear for the rest of the day!
- Name one character trait that you dislike about yourself.
I take things to heart when things go wrong. I’ve struggled trying to adapt to American culture. If things are hard, I just want to run away from it and go home to where I know I’m happy and comfortable…or go on holiday where I can forget about reality…
- Can you cook? And do you enjoy it?
I can cook basic stuff! I prefer to make cakes and desserts as apposed to real dinner time food!
- Did you enjoy school and why/why not?
Not particularly (which is ironic considering I now work in a school), I was good at school and tried hard…I even won a Student of the Year Award for Travel and Tourism when I was at college! I just didn’t like the people and I didn’t see the point of learning about stuff I knew I’d never use in life. I still think schools should teach you about things you actually need in life, such as: how to change a car tyre, how to do things like taxes etc.
- Coffee or Tea??
I’m a Brit, of course the answer is tea! Although I love flavoured tea: green tea, fruit tea, mint tea! I was ADDICTED to the mint tea in Morocco, that stuff is AMAZING.
- What would be your dream job if salary wasn’t a factor?
Travel. Going round the world and reviewing hotels and attractions, test out new places. For example, when tour operators send people to locations just to make sure that their holidays are up to standards. That would be awesome!
So rather than nominate 10 people to answer questions, I’m going to share the love…for 24 days! Thank you again Kelly for the nomination!
